Strongly positioned for Wiesbaden: Greens start the election campaign with team and program

Wiesbaden, 26.11.2025 – BÜNDNIS 90/DIE GRÜNEN Wiesbaden resolutely start the municipal election campaign in 2026. With the election program already adopted in October and the now elected list for the city council, it is clear: The Greens compete with a clear content course and a team that wants to actively shape Wiesbaden's future.

The party thus underlines its claim to take responsibility for the entire city – across topics, social groups and districts. Your self-image: a political force that does not narrow down to individual interests, but works for the big picture – for a Wiesbaden that is evolving and well positioned for the future.

Co-Chair Rebecca Thomas emphasizes the value of the broad staffing: “Our list shows that we take Wiesbaden seriously in all its diversity. Experienced local politicians work side by side with committed new forces and also bring together expertise for all policy areas. Eight people under 35 in the top 20 are a clear signal: We don't just think about the future, we actively bring it to the table.”

Co-Chairman Daniel Schmitt added: “What unites us is the will to advance Wiesbaden in all areas – ecologically, socially, economically. We stand for politics that combines climate and environmental protection, social justice and good cooperation and combines economic strength with responsibility and sustainability. We stand for a policy that courageously tackles when something new is needed and develops what exists when it has proved its worth. Our guiding principle is a city that does not stop, but gradually improves – for everyone who lives here.”

The election program of the Greens is now on gruene-wiesbaden.de Available in German and 12 other languages. "It is important to us that everyone in Wiesbaden understands what we stand for", explains Rebecca Thomas. The digital version has been designed to be barrier-free and mobile-friendly. The election program in plain language is currently in preparation.

On Monday, the 1st. In December 2025, the district chairpersons, together with some candidates from the top 10 of the list for the City Council, presented the team, key points of the program and initial insights into the campaign. Media representatives are invited.
