Greens on the board of the district association
The District Board of Directors is the central governing body of our party division in Wiesbaden. The district board represents the district association externally and internally controls the political orientation by coordinating the formation of political will in membership. It organises the framework for political work on the ground, organises events and election campaigns. This also includes supervising the members and supporting the content and organizational work in the districts in close cooperation with the Green Group in the Wiesbaden City Council. The aim is to bundle commitment, make green politics visible and enable members to actively participate in shaping Wiesbaden.
Since the members of the district board all work voluntarily in their offices, the first contact point for concerns and questions is our district office and the employees there.

Greens in the Town Hall Group, in the Magistrate's Council and as Heads of Department
The City council decides how Wiesbaden develops – and how well life works here. Their decisions shall determine: how money is used for schools, day care centres, transport, climate protection, housing, culture and social services, where to build, how to protect green spaces and how the city adapts to climate change. It lays down rules, controls the administration and sets policy priorities.
In short: Local Politics Affects Your Daily Life – from affordable housing, good schools and daycare centres to safe and climate-friendly mobility, liveable neighbourhoods and greater participation for all. Every decision in the town hall shapes how we live together in Wiesbaden – today and tomorrow.
We Greens stand for a policy in Wiesbaden that looks boldly forward: ecological, social, diverse, digital and innovative!
The magistrate is the head of the city administration. He takes over the day-to-day administration, prepares decisions for the city parliament and ensures that they are implemented. The magistrate includes both full-time as well as Voluntary members:
- Full-time members work full-time for the city, manage their own areas of responsibility (departments) and are paid for them. These will also Departments called.
- Voluntary members carry out their work alongside their profession, participate in meetings and support decisions, but receive only an expense allowance.

Greens in the local councils
Local councils are the ‘district parliaments’ of our city. They form this active link between residents of the respective district and the town hall. The topics that directly affect everyday life – from traffic calming to green areas to childcare – are discussed here. Local councils take up your concerns and bring them into local politics. They advise municipal bodies such as the magistrate and the city council on all important issues that affect your district. Local councils must be consulted on important matters such as the budget. In addition, they have an Right of proposal and can independently contribute ideas to improve the district. As the voice of the district, they have political weight in local politics. The meetings of the local advisory boards shall be open to the public. and are directed by the head of the place or the head of the place. Here you as a citizen can present your concerns directly and participate in decision-making processes.
We Greens stand for a sustainable, just and livable future in our local districts, for climate-friendly mobility, more green spaces, affordable housing, good coexistence and a livable environment in your district.
For green politics in the Hessloch district council, we work with the Free Electoral Community l(i)ebenswertes Heßloch (FLH) together. Instead of running with their own green list, our GREEN candidates ran on the FLH's open, independent list.
The FLH is not a party, but an independent electoral community in which non-Party and committed members of Alliance 90/The Greens Work together for Hessloch. This proven cooperation has been in place since 2021 and is committed to environmental and climate protection, sustainable mobility and a strong village community.
For green politics in the local council Kastel we work together with the working group Environment and Peace (AUF) AKK. Instead of running with their own green list, our GREEN candidates ran on the open, independent list of AUF.
The AUF is not a party, but an independent electoral group in which partyless people and committed members of Alliance 90/The Greens and the Left work together. This tried-and-tested mixture has been committed to the environment, peace and social issues in AKK since 1985.
For green politics in the local council Kostheim we work together with the working group Environment and Peace (AUF) AKK. Instead of running with their own green list, our GREEN candidates ran on the open, independent list of AUF.
The AUF is not a party, but an independent electoral group in which partyless people and committed members of Alliance 90/The Greens and the Left work together. This tried-and-tested mixture has been committed to the environment, peace and social issues in AKK since 1985.
Greens at the state level
At the state level, we are well represented with two GREEN members from our Wiesbaden district association. In the Hessian parliamentary group there are also two people from our district association.
