Last Sunday 01.12. the meeting of the new members of the district association Wiesbaden of Bündnis 90/Die Grünen took place. Almost 20 of our new members as well as some interested guests came together to get a first insight into our structures and the possibilities to actively participate.
This meeting is in the context of an unprecedented wave of entry that our district association has experienced in recent weeks. With more than 600 members, we have surpassed this impressive brand for the first time in our history. Particularly noteworthy is the diversity of the new members: People of all ages – from young adults to experienced seniors – have joined us. Many of them stated that the political events of recent weeks, such as the US elections on November 5 and the break of the traffic light coalition, have led them to take action.
Actively contribute: Election campaign in focus
The evening served not only to welcome the new members, but also to present our internal party structures. In addition to information on working groups and opportunities for engagement, the focus was on the upcoming double election campaign. Both the federal election on 23 February and the mayoral election in Wiesbaden on 9 March are already in the middle of planning. The two election campaigns offer numerous opportunities to play an active role and to help shape political change.
Together we shape the future
We would like to thank all participants of the new members' meeting for their interest and energy. With more than 600 members and numerous dedicated people, we look forward to the challenges ahead. Together, we are committed to sustainable, equitable and future-oriented politics in Wiesbaden and beyond.
We look forward to welcoming many new faces to our ranks and working with you to make the upcoming election campaigns a success!
