Sport is more than exercise \u2013 it is crucial for the physical and mental health of all ages, quality of life and social cohesion in our city. Sport is ubiquitous, from the banks of the Rhine to the city forest, with recreational sports, or top-class sports. Sports clubs and recreational sports facilities create important social spaces in which a wide variety of people come together. Every year, Wiesbaden presents itself as a sports city with sports events of national importance.<\/span><\/p>\n

Political decisions in Wiesbaden have a direct influence on how sport can be lived on site: They determine the financing, construction and maintenance of sports facilities, access to swimming pools and halls, the support of clubs and the promotion of popular sports as well as top-class sports.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sports activities create social spaces in which people of all generations and cultures come together, succeed in integration and children and young people acquire important skills. Every day, volunteers invest their time in a functioning sports business. Volunteering contributes to the sport, but without good conditions through the city, it can not work. A strong sports infrastructure makes Wiesbaden attractive as a place to live and work and presents us as a sports city with charisma far beyond the region.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>
